Why this blog?

I am writing my dissertation thesis. I am on a deadline. I need tools to help me through and I need them fast. But in the the middle of all this writing and analysis, I think I need to disentangle some basic but crucial concepts from my field in my mind. I also need to find a good way to get out this rutty area completely and effectively. I have been using Google Docs for most of my method notes but the charm of an online blog with click-through links and the luxury of reviewing crucial concepts without logging in has its merits.
