In short, I hate it.
Thankfully, the alternative works very well (on Chrome).
- Go to chrome://settings/searchEngines
- Under "Other Search Engines". Add a new CUL search engine.
- Pick a short keyword for initiating the search (I picked cul).
- Enter this long long string in the box that says: URL with %s in place of query:
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=%s&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.citeulike.org%2Fuser%2FZephyrus&as_occt=any&safe=active&tbs=&as_filetype=&as_rights=
- Of course, unless you want to search my boring library (you are most welcome, btw), replace "Zephyrus" with your username on citeulike.
- You are done.
- Press Ctrl + L --> Will take you to the omnisearch bar on Chrome
- Type cul and tab --> Tell Google to search with that long string you entered for CUL
- Type your keyword/s.
And experience aggravation-free results!
